Getting off to a good start with your Wicked Edge Sharpener

Congratulations on purchasing a truly precision, hand-operated knife sharpening system. This angle controlled knife sharpener will product extremely sharp edges if you take your time and don’t try to rush the sharpening process. Please read the operating instructions carefully and practice on 2 – 3 knives to get use to the sequence of operations and motion of operating the machine.
Before attempting to use your new sharpener, mount it securely on a cutting board, piece of plywood or some other secure platform. The platform should be at least 12” square. Securing your sharpener to a sturdy base is an important first step. Use the template in the instructions to drill the holes correctly for mounting. An optional granite base is also available. My suggestion would be to buy a wood cutting board at Wal-Mart.
Cost is between $7.97 10” X 15” - $12.97 12” X 18”. These boards are approx ¾” thick. You will have to either cut off the mounting screws that came with the kit or buy (2) shorter ones.
Now that your sharpener is securely mounted, you are ready to carefully read the operating instructions and begin the process of learning how to produce amazingly sharp edges on your knives.
Don’t try to rush the sharpening process. The Wicked Edge sharpener is made to exacting tolerances and produces very accurate angles on each side of a blade. Initially some stock removal is necessary to true up each side of a blade, create a wire edge on each side and then polish the blade to a razor sharp edge.
I have used most of the other hand-operated knife sharpening equipment on the market, yet they all fall short of living up to my expectations. I am a life long knife enthusiast with a strong desire to have a precision edge on every piece. This was unobtainable prior to purchasing a Wicked Edge Knife Sharpener! The end results were so outstanding that I became a dealer and an On-Line distributor for this great product.
There are thousands of folks just like us that enjoy and use knives in our daily work, for field use and recreational activities but are frustrated with not being able to sharpen our knives properly. The Wicked Edge Sharpener overcomes all of these limitations.
I have sharpened over 35 of my knives with the Wicked Edge sharpener. On every knife I have produced a very good edge. Once I became comfortable with the process, I stepped up to sharpening some of my more expensive pieces. Many of my knives never had a really good edge, but those days are gone! Anyone who is willing to take their time can work up a superior edge on most any knife. The Wicked Edge sharpener is fun to operate and once a superior edge has been achieved, only light touch-up is needed to keep a knife in top condition ready for the next great adventure.
